Sulla Terra Leggeri
All’interno di un flusso narrativo che assembla fiction, immagini di archivio e documentario prende forma la vicenda di Gian, un uomo affetto da amnesia temporanea che tratta la figlia Miriam come un’estranea e che riscopre un vecchio diario di gioventù, incentrato su Leila, la donna franco-tunisina con cui il protagonista ha scoperto l’amore nello spazio di una notte su una spiaggia italiana legandosi a lei con una promessa di futuro, mille volte attesa, mille volte disattesa. Un film sulla giovinezza, la perdita e la forza rigeneratrice dell’amore. Sara Fgaier, regista, montatrice e produttrice italo-tunisina nata a Riomaggiore, ha diretto i cortometraggi L’umile Italia (2014, Giornate degli Autori) e Gli anni (2018, Orizzonti), che ha vinto l’EFA come Miglior Cortometraggio Europeo e il Nastro d’Argento per il Miglior Documentario. Sulla terra leggeri (2024) è il suo primo lungometraggio, presentato in Concorso Internazionale al Festival di Locarno. È cofondatrice con Pietro Marcello della casa di produzione Avventurosa e fondatrice di Limen. Come montatrice e produttrice ha realizzato, tra gli altri, La bocca del lupo (2009) e Bella e perduta (2015).
Within a narrative flow that combines fiction, archive footage and documentary, the story of Gian takes shape. He is a man suffering from temporary amnesia who treats his daughter Miriam like a stranger and rediscovers an old diary from his youth, centred on Leila, the Franco-Tunisian woman with whom the protagonist discovered love in the space of a night on an Italian beach, binding himself to her with a promise of a future, a thousand times awaited, a thousand times broken. A film about youth, loss and the regenerative power of love. An Italian-Tunisian director, editor and producer born in Riomaggiore, she directed the short films L’umile Italia (2014, Giornate degli Autori) and Gli anni (2018, Orizzonti), which won the EFA for Best European Short Film and the Nastro d’Argento for Best Documentary. Sulla terra leggeri (2024) is her first feature film, presented in the International Competition at the Locarno Film Festival. She is co-founder with Pietro Marcello of the production company Avventurosa and founder of Limen. As an editor and producer she has made, among others, La bocca del lupo (2009) and Bella e perduta (2015).
