“The only true realist is the visionary” (Federico Fellini).

The Mostra del Cinema di Genova, co-founded by
Associazione Culturale 28 Dicembre and ACEC, is devoted to cinema
as an art form. We will privilege films with a poetic or
visionary value and innovative languages.

We will give equal importance to fiction and non fiction
works, to features and shorts, and the festival’s Grand Prix, dedicated to
Eadweard Muybridge (Grand Prix Pigeon Flying, Plate 755, 2500€) will be assigned
to the Best Film regardless of genre, duration and theme.

Ample attention will be given also to films out of competition, both in the
form of special screenings and retrospectives.

La Mostra del Cinema di Genova, fondata dalla
Associazione Culturale 28 Dicembre e da ACEC,
è dedicata al cinema inteso come forma di espressione artistica.

Verranno quindi privilegiati, nella selezione dei film
in concorso, lavori con valore poetico o visionario, e i linguaggi
innovativi. Verrà data la medesima importanza a film di fiction e non-
fiction, a lungometraggi e cortometraggi, e il Grand Prix del Festival,
dedicato a Eadweard Muybridge (Grand Prix Pigeon Flying, Plate 755, 2500€), sarà
attribuito al miglior film indipendentemente da genere, durata e provenienza.

Verrà dedicata ampia attenzione ai film fuori concorso, sia nella forma di
proiezioni speciali che di retrospettive.

The festival logo is based on a design by Thomas Gori, a young artist from Genoa, who took inspiration from “Pigeon Flying, Plate 755” by Eadweard Muybridge.
