Un film in nove capitoli, mostrati in ordine casuale e basato su frammenti del romanzo che Günther Andersscrisse tra il 1932 e il 1936: "The Molussian Catacomb’’. Prigionieri seduti nelle fosse di un immaginario stato fascista, la Molussia, si raccontano storie sul mondo esterno come una serie di favole politiche e filosofiche.Nato in Francia nel 1968, Nicolas Rey non prende il suo nome dal famoso regista americano (è lui ad usare uno pseudonimo) e non è neppure il figlio del regista sperimentale francese Georges Rey. Gira film dal 1993, produzioni in sospeso tra la fotografia, i documentari e i film sperimentali. Trascorre la maggior parte del suo tempo a "L'Abominable", un laboratorio cinematografico di artisti che ha contribuito a fondare nel 1995.

Prisoners sitting in the pits of an imaginary fascist state, Molussia, transmit one another stories about the outside world like a series of political and philosophical fables.Born in France in 1968, Nicolas Rey wasn’t named after the famous American director (he’s the one that had a pseudonym) and he’s not even the son of the French experimental filmmaker Georges Rey. He’s been making films since 1993, productions hovering somewhere between photography, documentaries and experimental films. He spends most of his time at “L'Abominable”, an artist film lab he helped founding in 1995.
