L’opera video Tree utilizza immagini digitali come mezzo per mostrare una connessione tra due alberi, uno dal mondo virtuale e l’altro dal mondo reale. Nell’era digitale, le doppie identità di virtuale e reale sono indipendenti ma reciprocamente influenti. Da quest’opera, possiamo percepire le caratteristiche del mondo virtuale: replica e freddezza, ciò implica anche che esso è solo un’ombra proiettata dal mondo reale, priva di consistenza e calore, solo un vuoto intangibile. Nato nel 1983, Tao Tao è un artista proveniente da Jingzhou, Cina. Ha conseguito una laurea in Arti Visive e Nuove tecnologie presso l’Hubei Institute of Fine Arts nel 2006 e un master in Ricerca sulle Arti Visive e Nuove tecnologie nel 2009 presso lo stesso istituto, rimanendovi come membro della facoltà.
The video work “Tree” uses digital imagery as a medium to imagine a connection between two trees, one from the virtual world and the other from the real world. In the digital age, the dual identities of virtual and reality are independent yet mutually influential. From this work, we can sense the characteristics of the virtual world - replication and coldness. It also implies that it is merely a shadow projected by the real world, devoid of texture and warmth, just an intangible void. Born in 1983, Tao Tao is an artist from Jingzhou, China. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in New Media Art at the Hubei Institute of Fine Arts in 2006 and a Master of Fine Arts in New Media Art Research in 2009 in the same institute, where he remained as a faculty member.
