A stranger in the world
Il compositore Magnar Åm si aggira per una grotta di stalattiti nel profondo sottosuolo per comporre un’opera musicale. Una volta alla settimana, una goccia cade dalla stalattite in cima sulla stalagmite in basso. Lentamente, forse in milioni di anni, crescono insieme. Il regista Sturla Pilskog trova difficile comprendere la realtà in cui vive e agisce suo figlio autistico. Attraverso ricordi frammentati della vita sensoriale compromessa di suo figlio, cerca di trovare una sorta di schema. Con il compositore come guida filosofica, il regista cerca di trovare una via d’accesso al centro della goccia, l’armonia nella vita. Sturla Pilskog è un regista e produttore norvegese. Ha diretto i film Winter’s Yearning (2019), Urban Hunters (2011) e il cortometraggio Ice Handcape (2014).
Composer Magnar Åm wanders through a stalactite cave deep underground to compose a musical work. Once a week, one drop falls from the stalactite at the top onto the stalagmite at the bottom. Slowly, perhaps over millions of years, they grow together. Director Sturla Pilskog finds it difficult to understand the reality in which his son, who has autism, lives and acts. Through fragmented memories of his son’s challenged sensory life, he tries to find some kind of pattern. With the composer as a philosophical guide, the director tries to find a way to the center of the drop and in many ways find harmony in life. Sturla Pilskog is a Norwegian director and producer. He’s directed the films Winter’s Yearning (2019) and Urban Hunters (2011) and the short film Ice Handcape (2014).
